Mac OS X is an open platform, so it can't get banned.
32-bit wouldn't normally matter for a word processor, but knowing Microsoft, its Office may get so bloated that in 2011 it will be reaching the limits of 4 gigs of RAM.
I see MS Office as an expensive proprietary word processor, wheras, in many cases the free downloadable OpenOffice.org is much better, on both Mac and Windows.
