Yes, we should all be worried. SaaS and other types of cloud services are following the standard outsourcing model which is not beneficial to the end consumers or the societies they live in.

General Outsourceing:
1. You get an initial price break as a consumer to hook you into the model.
2. The model gets wide adoption.
3. The adoption is so wide, you no longer have a choice, as a provider you have to outsource to stay competitive and as a consumer, ever one is outsourcing so you don't have a lot of choices.
4. Dramatic price increases for the same or in most cases lower quality goods and services. Where corporations absorb all of the extra profit and productivity gains with out passing them on to the consumer.

Cloud sourcing and SaaS are pretty much going to do the same thing. Some SaaS might be a head of the curve but really outsourcing anything is just about making corporations more profitable at the cost of consumers and local economies.
