@cliff@... First, bandwidth does not cost nearly as much as it once did.
Second, and more importantly, Comcast lied. They claimed they were not capping. Then it was proven they were.
Third, these caps are about the cable companies trying to keep people from downloading movies from the competition, in hopes they will pay for rentals through their "On Demand" or "Pay-Per-Views".

Sadly, I will be moving to an area that seems to be Comcastic. Grrr. I guess I'll have to go the DSL route again. And, then, I hear that is Qwest. I'm not so thrilled by what I've heard about them, either.

I'm not one who is big on regulations; but, I actually welcome this one, mostly because I hate the cable companies for whining to Congress in the 80's about satellite companies giving HBO/ShoTime/TMC/Cinemax for free. So, now we have to pay for that, no matter what type of service we have. (Of course, that's not to say once satellite killed off cable, we wouldn't pay twice as much. But, for the interim, we can gripe about having to pay for those services).
