It's free. What can they expect? Advertising is a necessary evil to keep customers from paying for using the website. Facebook should do everything they can to reduce privacy issues, but ultimately it's everyone's responsibility to be cautious of what thy do there or anywhere on the internet. The study, by its nature is not good.
