But what about data compliance?
JohnPaterson 28th Jul 2010
Call me old fashioned, but it strikes me that the main drawback with most PaaS is data compliance with the UK's Data Protection Act and the EC Data Directive, which basically mandates that no personal details (emails, telephone numbers) can be stored on a server outside of the EC. I wouldn't want to put our EC customer data on a system when I had no idea where the actual hard drives were - it is illegal!
