@Discourselives Have you tried CentOS? Much more stable and reliable than ubuntu if you ask me. Now seeing this is based off of RHEL I do understand their angst... Of course if Red Hat were smart they wouldn't charge $99 for their desktop with a years worth of updates (this makes Windows look cheap).
As for Google, I think they should do whatever it takes to keep chipping away at Apple until Apple is largely irrelevant and even if this means they never standardize it with the kernel.
