For me at least, having the person at the other end able to see me would almost never have any value. I frequently need to have someone see what is on my computer screen such as a presentation, diagrams and other visual aids to support what I'm talking about, etc. but there are plenty of ways to do that. Having a camera pointed at me achieves nothing useful.
