I've had Internet access, DVR, and media library on my TV for years. The web stuff gets used almost never, since I don't enjoy sitting on my couch typing and mousing.
I watch TV (as opposed to playing games or surfing the web) as a mostly passive and immersive experience. This is something that the "brains" behind interactive TV never manage to understand: we don't want to flip to a webpage in the middle of watching "Ben Hur" to check out fantasy football ranks, or watch a Youtube clip of a loser dressed in a tutu surfing in a kiddie pool.
So it sounds like Dish is engaged in the same practice of "seeking feedback" without even understanding the concept.
