I work in a hospital and have yet to see an iPad, which is not saying there is no use for them but saying that you are a bit premature about the ubiquity. As far as Airstrip goes, an app does not by itself make a fetal monitor. It has to interface with something and there is no mention of how that interfacing occurs. I will say that not every hospital is going to let it happen. Considering all your points, the exam room stuff might have the best chance, but can you get a decent ROI?
