Conservation of Energy
DarthChucks 2nd Sep 2010
Please review the section of your physics 101 text book titled "Conservation of energy". "This is the process of storing energy that is potentially lost (or even created)when something in motion is asked to slow down or stop."

Energy is not "created" in this process, it is converted.
