As I tweeted, I think Hurd going to Oracle would be a good move for both. Catz is known within Oracle for tight management disciplines. Hurd has similar skills, which is in my view what made him unpopular with HP staff. Oracle folks, on the other hand, are used to top-down central planning and control. So, yes, I think Hurd would fit right in.
The thought of putting Hurd in charge of Oracle's hardware business is intriguing, as that's in Hurd's DNA, while it's not in Oracle's.
