Bottom line is that Oracle for his hardware business needs a vision not a bureaucracy and cost cutting. Hardware business is become commodity one and or it will go for Wal Mart model with pricing war or someone will have a visionary approach. HP is not the best "best practice" place as we can see the past 10years with killing PA RISC line and alliance with Intel and his Tithanic baby.
Hurd looks like another xls admirer with cos cutting approach which in many corporate environment means Monthy Pythnonian effects.
