Brilliant, _finally_. DSLR memory cards get changed in a hurry, in hostile conditions, slung into pockets because you don't have time to put it into the case, changed 10 times a day....
None of this is a good usage scenario for an interface standard based around a series of protruding pins and little holes. One cack-handed card insertion because your mind is elsewhere and pins get bent. One bit of grime in the wrong place and holes get blocked, and if you don't spot before the changeover you've got bent pins again and your camera is now unusable. I'm not exagerrating, this has personally happened to me and I'm far from alone.
SD has robust contacts that are designed to be pulled in and out very regularly. CF doesn't, and the sooner we can get pro cameras away from the fragile CF interface the better.
