Here is why it won't happen.

@BillDem Apple has great big piles of cash laying around that it can use to pay lawyers to drag a case through the courts for as long as it wants to. The companies such as Quo that want to sell Mac clones are small and will quickly face oblivion due to legal costs. Even larger players like Dell or HP are not in a position to compete with Apple in the court room.

Jail breaking phones was basically something they didn't fight too hard because legal or not, few people are going to do it (at least as a percentage of total iPhone users). But if Quo or a similar company won such a contest, shortly thereafter every small computer assembler on the planet would be offering an OSX system.
