@Synthmeister News flash, you are not required to buy the latest tablets and phones with a contract. You can choose to buy it without one and pay full price like you do with the iPad and iPod Touch. iDevices that don't have true GPS. Of course, you can get true GPS with the 3G version of the iPad, but then you have to buy it with a contract don't you?
