RE: UK health service abandons massive IT centralization plan

It's all about data quality and without flexible systems, the NHS will always be playing catch up, spending millions keeping the systems on, with a dangerous reliance on external IT consultants.

NHS Trusts need to be empowered to manage themselves locally in the way they think best and by giving them more say, they will find new efficiencies through areas like shared services. Local decisions should be in the hands of local decision makers.
