I love my iPad. Love the screen size. It does get heavy after a while. Not so much carrying it around, but as an ereader its tough to beat the Kindle (I have both)

Storage: A red herring I think. Apple is pushing the cloud. Maybe the iPad is a bit too far in front, but frankly while I have my 64 gig 3G loaded at about 90% of capacity, a bunch of that is movies that I hardly ever look at. The 32 Gig is probably way sufficient. SD cards are the floppy's of today. One day you'll find drawers full of them with nothing to read them with.

Battery: Along with "instant on" (which I don't think you touched on) is the greatest thing about the iPad. Avoid anything with "5 hour battery life" especially when that turns out to be only an hour or two!

3G or WiFi? I cant imagine having a WiFi only iPad. For me it would cripple at least half the functionality because I don't work in an environment with WiFi access and when I'm traveling its just fantastic to have net access virtually everywhere. And don't forget, with the iPad you only get the GPS chip with 3G! Now, in a year or two I'll expect to see some real 3G/4G price wars going on with mobile hotspots. And that will be great for everyone.

Open/Closed: To paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy: "You know you are a goober when you worry about Apple's closed OS". If this is important to you I suggest buying a JooJoo Pad at a firesale and writing your own OS in linux.

Input options; If you by the camera adapter kit for the iPad you get a USB connector that lets you connect keyboards and other goodies. That said, I bought the Apple blutooth keyboard for my iPad and never use it. Can't be bothered carrying it. It now is my iMac keyboard.

Price: Geez folks, I know the economy sucks. But if we're quibbling over the difference between something costing $500 and $800... (my first HP 45 was $400 back in the 70s or whenever)

Camera: I've had a webcam on my iMac for years and never use it. We might try Facetime next week while my wife is on travel so she can look at the baby (her iPhone 4 and Facetime on my iMac). But frankly the only reason I wish the iPad had a camera is that it would shut people up on the subject.

Apps: I only know the Apple iPhone/iPad app situation. From what I can tell people with Android phones can pretty much get similar quality apps of all sorts. I probably have bought dozens if not hundreds of apps and use only 10 or so regularly. I'm willing to guess this is the norm. Which is great if they are cheap.

Compatibility: Lots of griping about having to use iTunes to move files between your iPad and computer. I move everything by email or mobile me. YMMV.
