Instant on is a myth and you know it. The first time you turned on your iPad.... how long did it take? Exactly. Every device goes to "sleep" these days, and is able to be "woken" up instantly. That is different to instant on.
iTunes is terrible, period, I'll never allow it on a machine in my household or network (it's a security risk and a registry risk, go ahead and google "bonjour problem" to see what I mean).
Mobile Me costs money.
iPad is crap.
