My own cousin sent this bloody thing to me. I've threatened to rip him a fresh southerly exit if he does it again. But the real lesson here is that Farsebook doesn't give a damn about user security, otherwise they'd stamp these things out or block them and the capability to cause damage - by default.

Maybe someone can explain to me why that might be difficult to do, but right now I'm trying to find reasons to keep this virus on my Mac.

Yep, I'm probably immune - but for how long? Any network can be penetrated. In this case those using Windows PCs could be penetrated, the contents of their contacts filed farmed and exploited. That's too close for comfort.
