The celebrations in the street reminded me of the celebrations in various Arab countries--I specifically remember Palestine--where 9/11 was celebrated. I remember the joy on one middle-aged woman's face as she exalted in the street. Treating acts of war, however justified, like it was a team win is just distasteful, but I don't particularly blame our American kids. It seems to be a universal response.
