Telstra network engineers have worked to fix a "glitch" that was preventing mobile broadband customers across Australia on its Next G network from uploading data and sending emails.
It is understood that the issue had plagued Telstra customers since the commercial launch of its 4G network last week, and users first reported problems with getting uploads to work over the Next G mobile broadband network on Whirlpool on 25 September.
While customers were able to view websites, actions that required the customer to send data, such as sending an email from a web-based email service, like Hotmail or Gmail, would often fail.
Telstra yesterday confirmed to ZDNet Australia that network engineers had found the "glitch" that was causing the issue, and it has now been resolved.
As of yesterday afternoon, some Whirlpool users also reported that it had been fixed, stating that the issue only affected some of Telstra's mobile broadband dongles.
A Telstra official on the forum also confirmed the news, adding that customers were most likely having difficulty with secure websites.
"As mentioned, we have implemented a change that we believe will fix the problem of accessing secure websites. If your problem was related to this by ending your current web session and starting a new one, you should now be able to access these sites."
A number of users have since reported that uploading functions have returned.
