Definition: 3D Vision

A stereoscopic gaming system for Windows PCs from NVIDIA. The PC must use an NVIDIA graphics card and connect to a true 120 Hz monitor, which accepts input at 120 frames per second. Introduced in 2009, NVIDIA's 3D Vision Kit includes driver software, an infrared transmitter and liquid crystal (LC) shutter glasses to render stereoscopic 3D for games written to the Windows Direct3D programming interface (API). 3D Vision has been widely praised by gamers for its realism and high quality. See LC shutter glasses, true 120 Hz and 3D visualization.
