A tablet computer that runs the Android operating system. In May 2010, an Android tablet with a case that resembled the iPad was introduced in China. Android tablets debuted in the U.S. in late 2010 with the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom.
Unlike the iPad, where only one top model is available from Apple, Android tablets are offered by Samsung, Motorola, Dell, Amazon, Acer, Asus and other vendors. See Android and tablet computer.
