(Frequently Asked Questions) A group of commonly asked questions about a subject along with the answers. Vendors often display them on their Web sites for use as troubleshooting guidelines. FAQs are widely used to help people solve problems with the hardware and software they purchased.
However, when FAQs are used to augment product descriptions on a Web site, that is a tantamount admission that the documentation is poorly written in the first place. A product explanation that is well written and properly outlined does not need FAQs such as "What is xyz?"
