Definition: Google Voice
A voice over IP (VoIP) service from Google that provides free calls within the U.S. and international calls at low rates from the computer, smartphones and Google Talk. It also provides a unified communications service. Using a person's existing phone number, voicemail messages are converted to text and can be read on the computer or as cellphone text messages. However, if users select and publish a Google-assigned phone number, they can have multiple phones ring or only selected phones depending on caller or time of day.
Formerly called "GrandCentral," voicemail, call blocking, call screening and other features are included. For more information, visit www.google.com/voice.
