(2) (American office: HTC America, Bellevue, WA, www.htc.com) A Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones founded in 1997 by Cher Wang and Peter Chou. HTC makes phones for many cellular carriers including Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, NTT DoCoMo and Vodafone. The company also made the first Android cellphones: the G1 and Magic (see Android).
