Definition: IDPF
(International Digital Publishing Forum, New York, www.idpf.org) A trade association for the digital publishing industry that was founded in 2000 as the Open eBook Forum and renamed IDPF in 2004. Its goals are to develop and promote an industry standard format for reflowable books, magazines and newspapers in electronic form. Members are made up of professional publishers, hardware and software companies, digital content retailers, educational institutions and accessibility advocates. In 2007, IDPF introduced its OPS/OCF common guidelines for digital content delivery. See EPUB, Open eBook, e-book and reflowable text.
