(1) (Keyboard Video Mouse) See KVM switch and KVM cable.
(2) (K Virtual Machine) A version of the Java Virtual Machine for small devices with limited memory. See J2ME.
(3) (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) An open source virtualization environment for x86-based Linux machines that is included in Linux, starting with Version 2.6.20. Maintained by Qumranet, Inc. (www.qumranet.com), KVM adds a kernel module to Linux, which serves as the host OS. It also includes QEMU for emulating input and output. See QEMU, oVirt, virtual machine and virtual machine monitor.
