The cloud computing version of Microsoft Office, which was introduced in 2011. Office 365 versions are leased monthly per user rather than purchased. Plan P includes Office Web Apps, which provides basic editing functions, and the online versions of SharePoint, Lync and Exchange e-mail. The E Plans also include the Professional Plus suite of desktop applications.
Office 365 replaced Microsoft's Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), Office Live Small Business and Live@edu. See Microsoft Office, Office Web Apps, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Lync.
