Definition: NetWare 6

A major upgrade to NetWare in 2001. It included disk pooling, which enabled all disks in a storage subsystem to be treated as one, and also allowed users to map a drive on the Internet for remote file storage or backup. Novell Internet Printing (NIP) was added, which enabled printing documents directly across the Internet using the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). Mobile users could obtain automatic backup with the new iFolder synchronization feature, and users could access NetWare 6 from their Web browser eliminating the need for client-side software requirement. See MPK.
