BlackBerry Z10 on sale in the UK: Where can you buy it?

Summary: The first BlackBerry 10 device, the Z10, will go on sale in the UK from Thursday; operators including Vodafone and O2 have released pricing.

BlackBerry - the company formerly known as RIM - has announced the availability of the first BlackBerry 10 handset in the UK.

From Thursday, the BlackBerry Z10 will be available from operators EE, Vodafone, and Three; as well as resellers Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.

EE will be making the Z10 available on its consumer 4G plans, including at £49.99 on a £41 per month, 24-month contract. The tariff includes 1GB of data, and unlimited UK calls and texts.

Small businesses can get it for £41.67 for a £30 per month, 24-month deal, including 1GB of mobile data, and 1,000 texts and call minutes.

Vodafone is pitching the device with a lower upfront cost, but a more expensive tariff. The Z10 will go for £29 on the £42 a month Vodafone Red Data plan, which has a 2GB data allowance, and unlimited calls and texts. On the £47 a month Vodafone Red Data plan, the device is free, and the data allowance is 2GB. On the £37 a month Red Data plan, the phone costs £69 up front, and has a 1GB data allowance.

O2 will be selling the Z10 on its On and On tariff for £36 a month on a 24-month contract, although the deal is only available until 13 February.

Three will be carrying the device from mid-February, but hasn't disclosed pricing just yet.

Carphone Warehouse will be stocking the Z10 from Thursday, on "all major networks", with no upfront cost on a £36 per month tariff.

The all-touch Z10 was officially announced on Wednesday. ZDNet's first review of the device can be found here.

  • UK Tarriffs

The tarriffs are pretty pricey for the UK..... You can get a free Galaxy S3, same calls/texts allowance and 2Gb of data for the same money, or unlimited data and fair calls/texts from about £30/month, again with a free GS3 handset.

What an enticing new OS, however with such tariffs on offer currently online now. Sadly, i'm skipping this for now.. **sigh*
