Turn on the Safari bookmarks bar
The Safari browser is nice to use on the iPad mini. Chances are if you also have an iPhone you have Safari set to display as much as possible on the little display.
The iPad mini display is big enough to make web browsing nice so you may want to turn on the bookmarks bar to display all the time. This gives you easy access to your bookmarks which is useful.
Open up Settings and find Safari and turn on Always Show Bookmarks Bar. The bar doesn't take up much room on the display but puts frequently visited web sites just a tap away.

Thanks for the suggestions James
I also have one more suggestion for new iPad users. Evernote, really nice app to have for jotting down notes. There are also variations, such as Evernote recipes, cheat sheet for students as well.
Google Calendar
Nothing

There is no reason Dalvik can't be on it.
The android "OS" is nothing more than a command interpreter with applications.
My system has lots - gnome, kde, XBMC, enlightenment...
All that is needed is the binaries. If it runs under the Linux kernel , it will run under the linux kernel with Ubuntu on it. Might require some finessing - switching graphics underpinnings would take a bit of effort (until someone makes it trivial).
And nothing prevents porting the Dalvik VM to using Unity.
Oh brother...
Guess you don't pay very much attention
