UXC buys US company to expand in North America

Australian IT services company UXC — through its wholly-owned subsidiary UXC Eclipse — has acquired US-based business management technology firm Cole Systems in a bid to expand its footprint in North America.

UXC Eclipse is a business intelligence products provider for the mid-market.

UXC Eclipse already has a solid presence in the continent, according to the company, focusing on Microsoft Dynamics AX enterprise resource planning (ERP) offerings for the resources sector.

"Dynamic AX has been growing at over 50 percent per annum in what is now a sizeable and rapidly growing market," UXC said in a statement. "Cole Systems is one of Microsoft's oldest and most respected Dynamic ERP and CRM partners in the US, and the acquisition by UXC Eclipse is supported by Microsoft."

UXC Eclipse is already a Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM gold partner in Australiasia. It also has experience working in the Canadian market.

The acquisition will bring UXC Eclipses North American headcount to 65 and double its annual revenue to around US$20 million, according to UXC. Cole Systems president and CTO, David Weiner and Ivan Cole, respectively, will both be retained. They will be reporting to UXC Eclipse CEO Brad Stroop.

The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.
