Accelera Solutions, the Fairfax, Va.-based cloud and virtualization company, has named Don Sheehan as its new vice president of cybersecurity solutions. Sheehan previously served as director of business continuity at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Sheehan joined the VA department in 2003 and, according to the Accelera press release, is credited with leading the agency’s response to Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy and was a “driving force” in the creation of the VA Trusted Internet Connection gateways. During his tenure, he also served as a representative to the National Communications System and the Executive Branch Cyber Unified Coordination Group.

Accelera Solutions’ clients include a bevy of government agencies such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Company officials said Sheehan will be charged with helping “break down” some of the security barriers that have prevented government and commercial organizations from fully embracing cloud-based IT environments and demonstrate the “powerful advantages” that cloud and virtualization technologies provide for improving the cybersecurity profile of these organizations.

Just more revolving door crap! I am sure that company had their pockets wide open to this goon for a long time... they whisper, scratch my back and we'll scratch yours! It MUST stop! Quit promoting them.. Put them in prison! Or better yet, MAKE them sign a 2 or more year disclosure when leaving the federal governemtn like the REST OF US must do! I work DoD and constantly see upper level military and SES revolve into contract positions all the time. I've been working this Navy base since 2000 and every admiral and SES during that tenure are high level contractor execs! Talk about corruption at its best!
