Video: Making good SaaS and cloud decisions
Software as a Service can free up infrastructure costs, cut licensing fees, and provide greater portability for your applications. The IT departments that have embraced those benefits are unleashing resources that were previously tied up in maintenance costs and using them to do more innovative things to help the business.
That's the story that companies and their IT departments typically tell to justify moving applications to the cloud. However, there are risk factors and best practices that are important to keep in mind in order to get a good outcome on a cloud migration.
In this 30-minute webcast, ZDNet Editor in Chief Larry Dignan and I walk through some of the most important factors that you'll need to be aware of before making the decision about what apps to move to the cloud, how to select good providers, and what you need to know when you go into a cloud deal.
