>> Neil MacDonald: In July, you said Windows Tablet would be available very soon. Do you have any more specifics on Windows Tablet availability? And if you're going to pause
>> Steve Ballmer: Well, no, I'll add
>> Neil MacDonald: How about this, how about this.
>> Steve Ballmer: Are we back to 630s?
>> Neil MacDonald: No, how about this
>> Steve Ballmer: I would say, no, I'm not giving any specifics today at the Gartner conference.
>> More general. Will it -- will it -- will it be available.
>> Steve Ballmer: If you push me hard, I'll do it tomorrow at the Forrester Conference.
Applause
>> Steve Ballmer: Go ahead.
>> Neil MacDonald: All right, how about this. Will it be available for the holiday season?
>> Steve Ballmer: You're going to see people do -- our hardware partners working with us -- you're going to see people do interesting new form factors with Windows. I've made that absolutely clear in things that I've said. They will build on and leverage strengths that Windows has versus other devices -- the applications base, Ink. Will you have devices without keyboards? Yes. Will you have devices without keyboards? Yes, you'll have new devices without keyboards that will be important to people as we go forward. You'll get some
>> Neil MacDonald: Holiday season?
>> Steve Ballmer: You get these devices shipped all the time. Yes, will there be some by holiday season? Yes. Will somebody say -- well, you can nod your head. I haven't made any positive statement. I just - -you can write anything down as cosmic. You're going to continue to see an evolution of devices. That's what you're going to continue to see. And I'd said, there's a generation of improvement you'll see, over the next several months. There's a generation of things that will come when we get new Intel processors, because we get the new Oak Trail processor from Intel next year. I mean, as I look at the things that I want us to continue to work on for the mobility aspects of our product line, I want us to have bigger screen devices that have long battery life. And that is going to require hardware -- let me finish. That is going to require hardware and software innovation, which I think is important. We believe in the diversity of the form factor. We need a little help in the hardware. We need a little help in the software. We're going to work with what we've got, we're going to work with Intel and other partners to get improvements in the underlying hardware. We obviously get Touch. I think this thing has a wonderful -- Windows Phone 7 -- has a wonderful Touch UI on it. We get Touch. We get voice -- this stuff does better voice than anybody else's mobile technology in the marketplace. And in the meantime, we do have customers -- 4-1/2 million of them last quarter, who chose to buy an iPad or a Google device. There are people who use Phones, and we're glad to have a very competitive operating in the market.
>> John Pescatore: You're holding up your phone, but your tablet strategy set is Windows, not Windows Phone 7. Why not a Windows Phone 7?
>> Steve Ballmer: This is Windows 2. I'm making some grand technology statement to anybody at anytime. You're a consumer guy.
>> John Pescatore: That's right.
>> Steve Ballmer: He's like some enterprise guy -- Windows, could be this Windows, could be the other Windows. IT's Windows, Windows.
>> John Pescatore: I didn't know there would be
>> Steve Ballmer: The technology details, I'm not going to get into today.
>> John Pescatore: So there will be multiple Microsoft Tablets, multiple
>> Steve Ballmer: I didn't say that. You said that. I didn't say that. I just said -- if you ask me a question, I'll probably say the answer's called Windows. I mean, geez, this thing's called Windows.
>> Neil MacDonald: We want the cool multi-touch UI.
>> Steve Ballmer: Sorry, you're not allowed to market at the Gartner Symposium.
>> Neil MacDonald: We want that UI on the Tablet, and Windows 7 doesn't have that cool UI. That's John's point.
>> Steve Ballmer: Okay. We get different UI.
