Speaker: It's these dual forces of super speeds and low latency combined that make LTE so transformative over anything we have today. As I see it, this transformation will be categorized by four big and complementary trends, trends that you can all seize upon. The first trend is real-time delivery. The super-low latency that I spoke about makes it possible. In fact, LTE's 30-millisecond latency is well below that 50-millisecond latency that feels instantaneous to folks. I know that the gamers among us are going to have a field day with that, with player-to-player response time virtually instantaneous, a whole new era of games and mass gaming is sure to migrate from PCs and game consoles to wireless devices of the future. Of course, it's not just about games. Think about what that real-time response will mean for doctor-patient video interaction, for x-ray and MRI remote consults in medical emergencies, remote camera control and threat assessment at crime scenes, or real-time video feeds to first responders as they're on their way to an emergency. Now, also in these examples, a second transformative trend is obvious, and that is video. And you've heard previous speakers talk about video, also, this morning. In the all IP world of 4G networks, video will be common ingredient in almost every form of communication and application, not solely for downloading movies or canned content, as is typically the case today, but think of real-time streaming and video collaboration, video conferencing, begin able to tap into that subject matter expert who's remote and now can engage with visuals in order to help in a particular situation. We have live video feeds from news reporters back to the studio, and increasingly, this video will likely be high definition. The third transformation comes from the evolution of cloud computing, on-demand applications and computing power residing somewhere in the network and that can be accessed at any place and any time. So for businesses eager to mobilize, you have field sales folks no longer needed expensive laptops. Think of what that alone will save, as they can utilize tablets and pull down flash presentations, large amounts of data from the cloud, updated to the second with customer or product information, and of course, with all the latest edits from your legal department. They'll pull it down in seconds. Likewise, media and entertainment companies can distribute their products in meaningful ways specific to customers very efficiently, and perhaps in new ways when you add some of the dimensions of mobility, location, and presence. And finally, a fourth transformative trend, again, you heard a little bit about this earlier, with LTE as machine-to-machine, or M to M. in the past, wireless networks typically connected people to people and then people to machines. And with LTE, we're going to see more and more enhanced machine-to-machine communications. The surge of mobile to mobile could make its way into every home, every vehicle, into buildings, even shipping containers and supermarket shelves, with intelligent apps ranging from remote diagnostics to restocking. Many of these machines apps incorporating video, of course. And I believe they're going to drive wireless deep into the framework of business and industry, really changing the way business models evolve and possibly creating entirely new business models and new businesses along the way.
