  • Demand? Hardly.
This is an important topic, handled superficially. RFID is not a solution, as your questioner implies, merely a dumb technology with potential to contribute to better in-store visibility, IF proper store-level compliance practices are adopted. Mr. Brown to his credit sidesteps that part of the question but then recounts some very conventional sources of store and warehouse data used to trigger the Del Monte Foods supply chain. Where is the use of demand modeling applications? Where is the commitment to investing in store-level compliance and visibility? The future of the demand chain begins with In-Store Implementation (ISI) practice innovation.
