Solar is way cheaper than three years ago. The cost of solar photovoltaic panels has decreased by 70 percent since 2008, to $1.25 per watt this year. As a result, the cost of solar energy versus traditional energy should reach parity by the end of 2011 in countries including Italy, Spain and Brazil.
