Nokia shows off new--but pricey--iPhone killers

October 1, 2007, 8:23am PDT | Length: 00:04:10
At Digital Life in New York City, Nokia finally shipped the new version of its popular N95, the "iPhone killer" with double the memory of its predecessor, 3G compatibility on the GSM platform, and support for assisted GPS. Like the old N95, it comes with a 5-megapixel camera and, unlike the iPhone, is unlocked by default. In his interview with Nokia spokesperson Joe Gallo, ZDNet executive editor David Berlind also gets a look at a prototype of Nokia's next N81, which features a bigger display and 8GB of storage.

  • Does this seriously threaten the iPhone?
I seriously doubt this phone would threaten the iPhone; first the iPhone has gained massive momentum in the US and Europe. Secondly, despite the price being ridiculously high, it has caught up with the top two smart phones in the US (Coming behind RIM and Nokia) with in six months. RIM and Nokia have been around for years! A single price drop on Apple's side would sky rocket their profits.
    Anyone else disagree?

The iPhone has 3G. It's close to actual Wi-fi speeds. Who's 'faster' now?

    iPhone pwns. That rhymes!

The iPhone comes with 8GB of storage for $199, compared to $700. Mhh what would you rather buy? I'd buy the iPhone.
