Vodafone still selling cancelled Nexus One

update Vodafone Hutchison Australia will continue to sell and support Google's Nexus One phone, despite Google announcing its intention to stop selling the phone directly.

When Vodafone began selling the phone on 1 July this year, it announced that supply of the Nexus One was "strictly limited". Soon after Google announced in a short blog post that it would be pulling the plug on direct sales.

"This week we received our last shipment of Nexus One phones. Once we sell these devices, the Nexus One will no longer be available online from Google," the company said in the post.

Although Vodafone spokesperson Tess Mion couldn't provide figures on the amount of stock that the telco had sold or how much was left, she said Vodafone would continue selling Nexus One until stock ran out.

"It's the same position for us, it's still available now," she said. "We've spoken to Google. They're still supporting the product."

Vodafone offers the Nexus One on a 24-month AU$79 cap contract. Mion said Vodafone along with Google would continue to provide support for the phone.

Google and HTC are currently answering queries on whether the production of the phone will continue.
