If one of your 2013 resolutions involves becoming a better communicator on behalf of your small business, then you should consider Brainshark's SlideShark presentation application - which has been downloaded to more than 1 million mobile devices in just one year.

The SlideShark product has one simple but profound mission - it enables people to present PowerPoint files on a tablet computer, complete with the right fonts, animations and graphics.

Now, the parent company has released a separate product, Brainshark Mobile Player (screenshot above), that enables the playback of presentations that combine PowerPoint slides, voice narrations and video clips. Because the application is developed in HTML 5, it works on both Android and Apple iOS mobile devices.

Essentially it lets you create and distribute a precanned version of a live demonstration or pitch that you might want to give. These presentations can be shared with potential customers, business partners or even internally within staff members for marketing or training purposes.

The Brainshark Mobile Player includes reporting capabilities, so you can assess how many times a video has been viewed or how long people spent watching the presentation.

"As smartphones and tablets skyrocket in use, it's not only important for companies to deliver content to mobile users - but also to deliver it in a high-impact and intuitive format," said Joe Gustafson, CEO of Brainshark. "The Brainshark Mobile Player empowers organizations to improve teh reach, impact and effectiveness of their mobile communications. They can use Brainshark to create interactive video content, and know it will be easily accessible and engaging to viewers on their desktop and mobile devices."

Brainshark's original SlideShark application is incredibly popular, partly because the company has invested in a number of partnerships that make the SlideShark application even more useful, such as its integrations with Box, Dropbox and Google Drive.

Any one of these cloud storage services can serve as a repository for presentations that can be played on the mobile viewer. The application also supports a cloud-based file management from Syncplicity, a division of EMC.

The latest version of the native application released in mid-November includes support for hyperlinks within PowerPoint files, a feature for replacing outdated content, and support for faster download speeds.
