I noticed when I couldn't visit the AAPT site today around midday that there was no response from the server. Then I had a look at Ausregistry, which said that the AAPT.com.au domain, registered through Melbourne IT, had expired.

I informed AAPT and its parent company Telecom New Zealand, and by 2pm the site was back up, with Ausregistry reporting that the domain status had been restored.

You may have thought that the site was owned by iiNet after it bought out AAPT's consumer division in September 2010 in a deal worth $60 million, but iiNet has the domain aapt.net.au for its residential customers, not aapt.com.au, which was retained by AAPT.
