  • Wow

You did not mention data sense and whatever that swipe from the top is. Amazing stuff.
Data sense is my dream come true. Total usage, usage by app, wifi/celular. Really useful.
Swipe from the top and you can see recent notifications, turn on airplane mode, lock orientation or invoke settings. Very very good.
    • Data Sense Not New

Data sense has been around for a while. However, I think it's only enabled on Verizon, maybe T-Mobile. I know ATT phones don't get it. Not sure why but I'm sure ATT has some reason only a possible when insufficient competition exists.
      • Date Sense

is available on all phones, unless the carrier blocks it.

That is why I always buy unlocked phones.

The "whatever that swipe from the top is" is called the Action Centre.

I have had Data Sense on my 920 since I got it...
  • Ugly UI

I can't speak about the functionality of Windows Phone as I've never used one ... they're pretty good apparently ... but that Metro UI is repulsive and it sure doesn't entice me to look further into it.

Of course, this is just a personal opinion and I know that one's appreciation for the look of a UI is highly subjective ... but really, squares of a solid color just don't do it for me.

To each their own I guess.
    • Repulsive?

Different tastes, I suppose. Having used iOS and Android, I find WP 8 and its modern UI interface to be very nice. I certainly use my WP8 device in preference to my Samsung Galaxy or iPhone - the latter 2 are company phones, the Lumia 1020 was bought with my own money.
