  • The applications panel remains the same as we saw on Windows Phone 7.

  • Lots of apps appear in the list. When you get to 41 apps then you will see shortcuts to help you jump to different apps in your extensive list.

  • After spending a bit of time with the HTC 8X I customized my Start screen to match my desires.

Android is very much the elephant in the room, isn't it? We don't even need to mention it, yet all you Microsoft fanbois are thinking about it, all the time.

  • Killer Feature

Kids Corner- this is flipping fantastic! The top winning feature of WP IMO.

Glad they've implemented some of the other basics too, like screen shots etc.

One of these is definitely my next phone. Great work MS. I hope many millions of WPs are bought by end users.

  • Why Do So Few Apps Have Proper Icons?

I see a few devs went to the trouble of providing a nice app icon, but most of them seem to have stuck in a plain coloured square during testing and forgot to remove it.

  • Picture Galleries

    ZDNet!!!
With picture galleries, can you please keep the screen stationery and just change the picture? This method is now widely used in the media and makes it much more convenient for the user. Thanks.

  • excellent extensive post ... and I am impressed enough to get one...

this is super, the features are amazing... bought W8 upgrade for my W7 laptop... Just getting in tune with the new environment... WP8 looks a lot more integrated, some of the benefits of being a phone perhaps... these days the W8 client team seems to take the strides of the WP8 team... Amazing!!!

W8 and WP8 share a common core... I guess in the very near future we will see a convergence in the full experience side as well...

  • BSOD?

    Hi :)
I guess it was a tad tough to get a screen-shot of the BSOD. For the Win7 phone you needed to have the phone for a couple of weeks before you get the usual slow-downs and BSODs. If you only play around for an hour or so then you are not really getting the full Windows experience.
