      As far as I know, the live tiles look the same in the Windows 8 RTM -- I think they changed them post-Release Preview.

    More than 90% of the servers are powered by Linux and will continue to rise because no body wants to compromise their servers with viruses and worms

      And absolutely wrong you are. Enjoy your fantasy land while other people are getting real work done on their Windows servers with a full suite of services that are only hodge-podged together with weeks of effort on your precious Linux boxes.

      So, it seems that Microsoft must be puling an Apple-like tactic, with its server revenue being over-priced in order to bring in so much revenue in comparison to Linux. That's the only explanation for the numbers, since, according to you, 90% of servers are Linux-powered, and so, MS has to be pulling an "Apple" in order to score so much revenue.

  • Start Screen Seems Ridiculous...

    After using it for a week, I find it ridiculous having to constantly switch back and forth between the Start screen and the desktop. Tapping the Windows key switches between the two different views, BTW.

    I suspect most administrators will add shortcuts to the desktop to launch administrative applications or pin those apps to the taskbar. After all, the desktop is where all the apps run anyway.

    The Windows Store tile magically appeared over the weekend via a scheduled Windows Update. I hope more meaningful applications appear in the store. With 90% of the content seeming to be game-based, my web/email server doesn't need "Cut the Rope" installed on it.
