Yearning for a unified contact list? Sync.Me wants your number

Available for both Apple iOS and Google Android, the service boasts more than 7 million users.

Psssst. Interested in a free service that helps you keep all of the contacts from three top social networks -- Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ -- better up-to-date?

Then you should definitely look at Sync.Me, a synchronization platform for Apple iOS and Google Android that so far is being used by 7 million users to manage more than 1 billion contacts every week.

It's simple: the application sychronizes your smartphone with the latest photos, email addresses and phone numbers. Whenever someone changes something -- like maybe their job title -- you automatically receive the update without doing anything. (No more chasing people that might have moved companies, but haven't quite gotten around to updating things manually.)

Slightly worried about how much information you might be exposing by using the service, accidentally or otherwise?

Now Sync.Me has created what it calls a "Me" card, which you use to determine what information you want to share with other people using the Sync.Me service (your Me Card is how you will appear to anyone else who uses the service). If you want, you can even choose to include a digital image of an actual business card.

ME-Card

Yes, yes, there have been many universal address book services proposed before because keeping track of everybody in our professional and personal lives is becoming more difficult every day. The sheer number of people using this app, however, has me intrigued.
