TNMOC has two excellent galleries showcasing machines that kick-started the computer age. Shown above is the Tunny machine, which decrypted German Lorenz-enciphered radio communications in World War II. The Lorenz machine was a 12-rotor encryption device whose all-important wheel settings were initially calculated using a slow and unreliable machine nicknamed 'Heath Robinson'.
