Acer Aspire One (XP Home, White) has limited appeal The Acer Aspire One is easily the best of the current under-$400 Netbooks, but its meager allotment of memory and tiny battery limit its appeal.
Apple iMac (20-inch, 2.4GHz) one remarkable show Apple's smaller-scale iMac remains our favorite all-in-one. And while its looks, its ease of use, and its performance are all selling points, Windows PCs are starting to catch up (at least with the latter). A few components could also stand an update, but in general you'll find the 20-inch iMac a remarkable computer for its price.
Samsung LN46A550 strikes nice balance The midlevel Samsung LN46A550 LCD HDTV strikes an excellent balance between price and performance.
Gateway DX4200-UB001A is best in its price class We can forgive Gateway for cramming the DX4200 with more memory than it needs simply because its specs and overall performance are the best in its price class. Of the various do-it-all lower midrange PCs out there, this one gets our nod.
Sony VAIO VGN-NR498E (white) has some appeal It lacks some standard mainstream laptop features, including an integrated Webcam and multimedia control buttons, but the Sony VAIO VGN-NR498 holds some appeal thanks to its decent performance, good battery life, and excellent keyboard. Still, there's a cheaper version of this VAIO laptop we like better.
Ultrasone HFI-2200 ULE a good pick Ultrasone's HFI-2200 headphones score well on every count: they're comfortable, well built, and sound great.
Dell Studio Hybrid fills a niche If you're considering all of the computers in the $700 to $1,000 price range, the Dell Studio Hybrid is not very compelling. However, if you limit yourself to the very specific niche of small PCs, you'll appreciate this system's clever design and its relatively powerful hardware.
Canon Selphy CP770 isn't the right Canon choice The Canon Selphy CP770 is a neat, little dye-sublimation printer that includes a bucket for easy travel, but the wireless accessories aren't included. If you're shopping for a convenient travel-friendly printer, check out the Canon Selphy CP760 that offers the exact same technology with a similar style for a better price.

AT&T blunders on free Wi-Fi for iPhones

AT&T just can't commit. To free Wi-Fi for iPhone 3G customers, that is. The company seems to be having a blunder-fest with announcements that iPhone 3G customers can get free Wi-Fi at its nationwide AT&T WiFi HotSpots (most notably in Starbucks stores). Rik Fairlie
