10% of adult Americans cut the landlines
Harris Interactive Technology Research says 10% of US adults have cut the landline and switched to mobile phone, 5% are seriously considering such move, and 47% are somewhat considering getting rid of landline. 39% who said they would never give up their landlines because of safety, the need for dial-up Internet access, the high cost of cellular service, quality of wireless reception at home and the need for multiple phone lines.
